Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her signature spiky blonde locks and an energised persona on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides straightforward and simple methods for cooks at home. Chef Burrell also has worked in several of the city's most prestigious restaurants, has learned about the Italian food and culture, and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her after she graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in English as well as Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic experience. I couldn't learn or do enough. After graduation, chef Burrell spent a period of time in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy the chef gained an appreciation and knowledge of Italian food. It had a significant impact on how she views food. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in children's lives who are facing challenges. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador who promotes education about the condition known as juvenile diabetes. Burrell speaks on her culinary love and imparts her experiences in the food world as she frequently travels throughout the US in both her roles as speaker and mentor. Anne often has mentioned during her career in the kitchen she's grateful to have the opportunity to share with others what is most important to her.
